2013 STRATHROY CARADOC CANCER GOLF TOURNAMENT RAISES $19,000 FOR SMGH

The Strathroy Caradoc Cancer Golf Committee presented an $19,000 cheque to the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital (SMGH) Foundation on June 24th, 2013. On hand for the presentation were (left to right): Mike Vanos, Arkona Fairways owner; Marianne Kennes, golf committee; Marg Traxler, golf committee co-chair; Dr. William Dawson; Cindy Skow Geertsen; and Todd Stepanuik, SMGH Chief Executive Officer.

The Strathroy Caradoc Golf Tournament, held on Saturday June 8, 2013 at Arkona Fairways Golf Course, was a great success once again.  Golfers enjoyed music, a delicious meal and the opportunity to win prizes, and spend time with friends.  Dr. Gary Perkin was the Master of Ceremony at the event, which was dedicated to Ian McLaren and had 159 people in attendance.

The event raised $19,000 through ticket sales, sponsors, silent auction items, 50/50 draw, putting contest and the wheelbarrow of cheer raffle. The proceeds raised will support digital mammography equipment at SMGH.
